On The Land - East Loddon P-12

On-The-Land---East-Loddon-Creative-Learning-Partnership.jpg

Exploring the productive lands of East Loddon with a creative project between Nacho Station and a group of creative kids from East Loddon P-12 College.

With the help of our participants we’ll be exploring the history of East Loddon’s Land and those who have walked it.

With altered schooling arrangements during term 3, we’re taking our art skills online to provide some at home learning experiences to drive engagement and build our students creative skills while in isolation.

East Loddon residents! We need your help…

With this exciting art project. The students and the community will lead us down a country track of discovery and storytelling through art.

Yes… You can inspire our students with your stories of the land. Please take a moment to complete a community feedback form.

We’re stoked that you’re interested, please contribute in some way to make this project a true collaboration between East Loddon, Nacho Station and most importantly the students and their extended community.

An exciting creative collaboration with East Loddon.

art trail

You’ve heard about the Silo Art Trail, it’s an exciting new way to make our smaller towns more exciting and colourful. We’re working with East Loddon students to bring art to the streets, we aim to create an art trail that connects towns and people of East Loddon.

What will we do

Working with a group of students in years 8, 9 and 10, we will create an art trail around East Loddon.

Students will discover the history of the land through conversations, community input and research activities to create relevant artworks that will take pride and place within the local community.

How will we do it

We plan to create a series of artworks that grab your attention from a distance, or require closer inspection. Think grain bins, old farming equipment and hay bail art. If it’s big, interesting or would look cool with a splash of colour, then we’d love an opportunity to paint it.

We will need the help of the community to obtain appropriate equipment to paint, as well as places for the artworks to be on display upon completion.

Ways to be involved

  • Complete a form about town history

  • Contribute materials (hay bales, old farm equipment)

  • Help us display art (refer to map)
